📝 Preparing for the November Mocks

This morning, Year 11 students received their Revision Guides during tutor time as we begin our focused preparation for the November mock examinations.

The guides are designed to make revision as clear and manageable as possible. They outline:
  • What to revise for each subject.
  • How to revise effectively, with guidance tailored to different subject areas.
  • How students can plan and organise their revision alongside their normal schoolwork.
During tutor time today, students also spent time planning their week ahead, identifying when they will complete homework and revision. This is something we will continue every Monday during tutor time, helping students to develop good routines and manage their workload effectively.
Supporting students towards the mocks

Revision will remain scaffolded up until the half-term break. During this period, teachers and Curriculum Leads have carefully planned homework so that tasks have a clear revision focus, ensuring students know what they need to work on rather than feeling they have to revise everything at once.

Next Tuesday, students will also have an assembly with me focusing on the practicalities of the mock examinations, making sure they understand what to expect, how to prepare and what they need to do during the examination period.

Students can access a digital copy of the Revision Guide through SharePoint and the Revision Hub. You can also access a copy here:

Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support at home as we help students prepare confidently and effectively for this important stage of Year 11.
