1️⃣3️⃣ Week 13 - Update

 Assembly Updates

This week’s assembly focused on uniform expectations and introduced a “Getting It Right” period, where we will pay close attention to uniform standards each day. Next Wednesday, Mr Parsons and Mr Hurley will present another assembly via Teams to explain how this will be further followed up in January.

🗓️ Next Week’s Assemblies

Students will come together for two important assemblies:

  • Wednesday (Period 5) – Led by Miss Ball, Mr Cooper & Mr Keep, students will receive their mock exam results.
    • Students will go to their Period 5 lesson for registration and leave belongings there.
    • Teachers will escort them to the hall, where instructions will be given before results are distributed.
    • Students will have space in the Hall and Conservatory to open results with support from tutors and peers.
    • Parents will receive the data on Thursday morning, giving students the chance to share their results first.
  • Thursday (Period 5) – Our final Christmas assembly in main school. This is always a fantastic event to celebrate the term and enjoy some festive fun.
    • Students may bring a Christmas hat, wear a Christmas jumper, or dress in their house colour.

🎄 Christmas at The Priory

Thank you to everyone who attended this year’s Christmas Festival at The Priory - a truly special occasion and a highlight of the calendar. Huge thanks to our Year 11 musicians for their hard work and dedication, and a special mention to Willoughby R for his excellent speech.

⚽ Football Report

“Ah- all good things must come to an end… County cup ¼ final- the year 11 team played Ringwood on Thursday 12th December after their momentous victory in the previous round against Corfe Hills.

 There is a saying in football- form is temporary, class is permanent. Unfortunately, the team, to a player, had a dip in form at completely the wrong time, allowing Ringwood to romp home deserved victors 3-1. The only positive was a bit of self-reflection from each player and ownership of the result- no sour grapes just an acceptance that we were not good enough on the day.

 So a happy end in terms of a lesson learned, but disappointment to be out of the cup!” Mr Massie

❓ Christmas Quiz

We held our first Passport to Prom event on Thursday - a fantastic Quiz Afternoon hosted by our Sixth Form students. Year 11 teams battled through rounds of general knowledge, film, music, and logos before the winners were crowned.

Congratulations to the winning team (Charlie Th Charlie Tw , Aaron B, Fin B, Nathan T and Kilian L) enjoy your Nando’s tonight! Special mentions to the runners-up (Lucy, Hazel and Lila) and all other attendees for a great effort. Well done to all for making it such an enjoyable evening. We’re already planning the next one (and yes, we’re keen to get a staff team involved!).

📝 Reporting and Parents’ Evening

Parents will receive their child’s mock exam report next week.

  • Parents’ Evening will be face-to-face on Thursday 15th January, 16:00–19:00.
  • Booking opens Monday 5th January via parents-booking.co.uk.Further details will be shared when we return after Christmas.

📚 Library Reminder

All library books borrowed this term must be returned by the end of term.

 🏫 End of Term Arrangements

It’s a busy week ahead for Year 11!

  • School closes on Friday 19th December at 12:20pm.
  • School reopens on Monday 5th January at the usual time.

2️⃣ Week 2 Update: Settling In, Stepping Up & Staying Focused

Hello Year 11 families! We’re now into the second week of the academic year, and it’s been fantastic to see our students settling into routines, embracing challenges, and showing real commitment to making this year count. Here’s your weekly roundup of everything happening in Year 11. It’s been a brilliant start across the school. Teachers are challenging students, and students are rising to meet those expectations with hard work and focus. Feedback from staff and learning walks has been overwhelmingly positive - professional relationships between students and teachers are strong, and the mantra “hard now, easy later” is really taking root. As Head of Year, I’ve been genuinely proud to see this level of dedication from the very first week. There’s a real thirst for success, despite the soggy weather, spirits weren’t dampened - especially during school photo day!
