House Assemblies Update

Year 11 students attended House Assemblies each morning this week. It was fantastic to be a part of these! Heads of House have shared key updates and celebrated achievements in the Autumn Term - these assemblies are a great way to strengthen house identity and community spirit.

πŸ—£️ Assemblies Next Week

  • Monday: Whole school assembly via Teams in tutor rooms. Students must be in tutor by 08:35 as this will start promptly at 08.40.
  • Tuesday: No Year 11 assembly.

πŸŽ… Christmas Assembly

Our final Year 11 assembly will be on Thursday 18 December (Period 5). Students are welcome to bring a Christmas hat, wear a Christmas jumper, or dress in the colour of their house. It’s always a fantastic event to end the term on a high note!

πŸŽ„ Invitation to The Priory Christmas Festival

  • Date: Tuesday 9 December
  • Time: Doors open at 7:00pm for a 7:30pm start
  • Location: The Priory Church
This year’s festival promises to be a heartwarming evening filled with carols, festive cheer, and the spirit of togetherness, thanks to the hard work of our Music Department. If you haven’t attended before, we highly recommend it - it’s a highlight of the school year!

🎢 Rehearsal Schedule

  • Monday 8 December – Rehearsals at Twynham School start at 8:00am with Orchestra set up in the Hall until 1:00pm when students finish.
  • Tuesday 9 December – Rehearsals at The Priory until 1:15pm. Year 11 students will attend Period 5 lessons as normal.

❓ Quiz Event

 If your child has reached Level 1 in their Passport to Prom, they are invited to our Quiz Afternoon - the first of many fun activities planned for Year 11. Students have been emailed this week.
  • When: Thursday 11 December, 5:00pm - 6:30pm (arrive from 4:30pm) Where: School Hall
  • Cost: FREE Teams: Up to 6 people - choose your squad wisely!
Students can expect topical questions, surprises, snacks, and a great social atmosphere.

πŸ“š Library Books - End of Term Reminder

All library books borrowed this term must be returned by the end of term.

If you find any older library books at home that are well overdue, we are running an amnesty - no questions asked! Please encourage your child to return these as soon as possible so we can refresh our stock for the new term.

2️⃣ Week 2 Update: Settling In, Stepping Up & Staying Focused

Hello Year 11 families! We’re now into the second week of the academic year, and it’s been fantastic to see our students settling into routines, embracing challenges, and showing real commitment to making this year count. Here’s your weekly roundup of everything happening in Year 11. It’s been a brilliant start across the school. Teachers are challenging students, and students are rising to meet those expectations with hard work and focus. Feedback from staff and learning walks has been overwhelmingly positive - professional relationships between students and teachers are strong, and the mantra “hard now, easy later” is really taking root. As Head of Year, I’ve been genuinely proud to see this level of dedication from the very first week. There’s a real thirst for success, despite the soggy weather, spirits weren’t dampened - especially during school photo day!
